New Trump-focused “Love Me” ad campaign paid for by taxpayers hits airwaves

September 25, 2026 2 min read

American taxpayers are footing the bill for a new series of high production advertisements celebrating President Trump, sparking a fierce debate over the line between patriotism and political propaganda. One of the primary spots, set to the song Love Me, blends imagery of presidential rallies and turkey pardons with strong rhetoric promising to defeat communism and socialism in the United States. The commercial concludes with a testimonial from UFC CEO Dana White praising the president’s resilience, while an on screen disclaimer explicitly states that the content was paid for by the U. S. Government.

The rollout has already faced immediate backlash, not only from political opponents but also from the artist behind the music. Singer JMSN took to X to clarify that he never licensed his song for the project, stating that he would not authorize his work for any political agenda. Meanwhile, a second advertisement focusing on the capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has begun airing across various networks, further cementing a campaign that critics argue reads more like an election bid than official government communication.

Inside the White House, officials are firmly denying that these commercials are political in nature, instead labeling them as public service announcements intended to inspire love for the country. A spokesperson argued that because the president is not currently on a ballot and there is no specific call to action, the ads are simply educational tools meant to highlight why America is worth defending. They maintain that the content is unapologetically patriotic and serves a legitimate governmental purpose.

However, several prominent Democrats are calling for an immediate halt to the broadcasts, alleging that they violate federal laws prohibiting the use of public funds for party propaganda. Senator Maggie Hassan and other congressional leaders have sent formal demands to Chief of Staff Susie Wiles requesting transparency regarding costs and contractors. Some lawmakers have gone as far as comparing the tactics to state controlled media in North Korea, prompting calls for new legislation to ban tax funded advertisements featuring cabinet members or political figures in such a manner.
